Two vehicles involved in early morning broadside crash

Minnesota State Highway 60 at Cottonwood County Road 1 was the scene of an early morning accident with two vehicles involved in a broadside-type crash.

According to a report by the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), the accident was reported at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, Sunday, September 11. A 2004 Chevrolet Venture, driven by 69-year-old Deborah A. Elliot of St. Peter was traveling east on four-lane Highway 60, and a 2016 Chevrolet Sedan, driven by Avery E. Herrig, 26, of Alexandria, with passenger, 20-year-old Dakota J. Hensley, of Westbrook, was southbound on two-lane County Road 1. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Elliot was taken by Mountain Lake Ambulance to Windom Area Hospital in Windom with non-life-threatening injuries. Herrig and Hensley had no apparent injuries.

No damage was reported on either the Venture or the Sedan.

Assisting the MSP, in addition to the Mountain Lake Ambulance Service, were the Mountain Lake Police Department, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Mountain Lake Fire & Rescue Department.
