William ‘Bill’ Larson

william bill larsonFuneral services for 65-year-old William “Bill” Alan Larson will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, August 10, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Windom, Minnesota. The church is located at 450 3rd Avenue South.

Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.

William “Bill” Larson passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016.

William “Bill” Alan Larson was born on June 26, 1951, in Windom, the son of the late Melvin T. and Esther A. (Gravley) Larson. He received his education in the Windom Public Schools; graduating in the Class of 1970. He then attended Worthington Community College and the Brown Institute.

After finishing his schooling, Bill began his career at KDOM in Windom as a broadcaster for many years. Bill and Sue lived in Windom for many years before moving to Mountain Lake, Minnesota.

In 2014, due to declining health, Bill became a resident of Autumn Grace Assisted Living in Mankato, Minnesota.

He remained at Autumn Grace until recently being hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato, where he passed away.

Bill will be remembered for many things in life, including his “witty” humor, being a huge Beatles fan and his much love for his family. He had a love for California and enjoyed visiting the East Coast, especially New York City.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Larson of Mountain Lake; two daughters, Erin (Jason) Haroldson of Mankato and Krystal (Adrian) Sancho of Verona, NJ; four granddaughters, Sydney, Stella, Avery and Allison; two siblings, Merriell Frantsen of Windom; Jon Larson (Marsha) of Woodbury, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mel Jr. and brother-in-law, Jerry Frantsen.
