The 14 teams that comprise Section 3A South Sub-Section boys and girls track and field competed Thursday, May 26, at Cardinal Field in Luverne to determine the individual contestants or relay teams that advance to the Section 3A Meet on Thursday, June 2, in Redwood Falls.

The top six finishers in each one of the meet’s 18 events (including the four relays) – in both the boys and girls divisions – earned automatic advancement. Those six will join their counterparts from the Section 3A North Sub-Section Meet at Redwood Falls, to see who qualifies for the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class A Track and Field Meet to be held Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 at Hamline University in St. Paul.

The remaining four entrants in each event at the section meet will be determined by comparing the performances of those who finished seventh, eighth, ninth or 10th at the south and north sub-section meets. Using this formula, it is possible to move on to the section meet by placing 10th – if that performance exceeds the seventh-place time, distance or height from the other sub-section.

Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine Track and Field team members moving on to the section meet by finishing in the top six in their events include:
