Funeral services for 76-year-old Barbara Jean Johnson of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday morning May 9, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 1418 2nd Avenue.
Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, located west of Odin, Minnesota.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. the funeral home is located at 420 10th Street North. A second visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Barbara Johnson passed away at her home on Thursday morning May 5, 2016.
Barbara Jean Johnson was born on July 22, 1939, the daughter of Jess and Edith (Wessendorf) Penoyer in Windom, Minnesota. She graduated from Windom High School in 1957 and married Leland C. Johnson at the Methodist Church in Windom on June 2 of that same year.
Barbara was employed as a teachers’ aide for Storden Elementary School in Storden Minnesota; sewed jackets at Fingerhut in Windom; worked as a dental aide for Dr. Wenberg, at Country Pride Fertilizer and Cenex C-Store, all of Mountain Lake; drove semi and worked extensively on the dairy farm.
Some of her favorite hobbies included knitting and crocheting, reading and camping, as well as playing pool. Barbara also enjoyed woodcarving, Norwegian hardangers, stained glass and spending the winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Leland of Mountain Lake; her children, Steve and his wife Marcia of St Joseph, Minnesota and James and his wife Debra, Kevin and his wife Kathy, Cindy and husband Tom Quiring and Julie and husband Larry Falk, all of Mountain Lake; 15 grandchildren, Lisa and husband Jamie Becker, Mitchell Johnson and significant other Maria Lumawag, Brooke Johnson, Jessica and husband Jeremy Williams, Naomi and husband Derek Youngren, Jaclyn and husband Shawn Gossen, Spencer Johnson and wife Beth, Vincent Johnson, Jacob Johnson and wife Elizabeth, Megan and husband Ike Pohlman, Hannah and husband Thor Kurtz, Heath Quiring and fiancée Taylor Egeland, Hunter Quiring, Joshua Falk and wife Courtney and Mikayla Falk and fiancé Andrew Hempeck; 15 great-grandchilren, Linnea, Olivia, Gavin, and Chase Williams, Brielle, Braedon and Avery Becker, Natalie, Noelle and Boaz Youngren, Dallas, Colten and Emmitt Gossen and Ava and Ella Kurtz. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, DeLyle Gohmann of Cambridge, Minnesota, Duane Hanson of Henning, Minnesota, Rex Petty of Butterfield, Minneosta and Lester (Judi) Johnson of Worthington, Minnesota and sisters-in-law, Kathy Johnson and Darlene Kunkel both of Mountain Lake and Ardella (David) Nelson of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father-in-law, Albert and Linnea Johnson; sisters Margaret Gohmann, Janet Hanson and Sandra Petty; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Conrad) Sandberg and brothers-in-law, Verne Johnson, George (Clara) Johnson and August Kunkel.
