norma wallA Celebration of Life service for 89-year-old Norma Ann Wall will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 11, 2016, at the Community Bible Church in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 500 Klein Street. Pastor Dan Stutz will officiate

Interment will precede the funeral service in Mountain Lake City Cemetery, located on 10th Street at Midway Road.

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, from 4 p.m. The funeral home is located at 420 10th Street North.

Norma Ann Wall passed away on Friday, February 6, 2016.

She was born to Henry and Helen (Loewens) Ysker on April 3, 1926 in Mountain Lake. She received her education at District #12 , Mountain Lake Township country school and graduated from Mountain Lake Public High School in 1944. After graduation she worked at the Bethel Hospital in Mountain Lake as a nurse’s aide, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

While growing up, she was her dad’s right hand man, always working side-by-side. Many times she mentioned looking forward to being reunited with him in glory.

On April 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Arthur E. Wall, in Mountain Lake. After their marriage, they farmed southeast of Mountain Lake, where they raised five children. In 1992, Art and Norma moved into Mountain Lake, and retired from farming in 1999.

Her family was her life. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. She spent many hours babysitting her grandchildren. She was a one-of-a-kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed.

Norma was a member of the Community Bible Church in Mountain Lake and was very active singing in a ladies trio and church choir. She also was a Sunday School teacher to high school students for many years. She had a special place in her heart for the youth.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Arthur E. Wall of Mountain Lake; children, Byron (Terri) Wall, Curtis (Debra) Wall and Dean (Sherry) Wall of Mountain Lake; daughter-in-law, Rosy Wall of Woodbury, Minnesota; son-in-law, Steven (Carrie) Earll of Colorado Springs, Colorado; in-laws, Elmer (Winafred) Wall of Goshen, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and spouse;, 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters, Alvin, Evelyn, Irene and Helen; daughter, Rachel Earll and son, Charles Wall.
