MLPS School Board gives Building Committee its current task

Donna Peterson to retire; spring coaching extra-curriculars approved

The Building Committee for Mountain Lake Public School (MLPS), received its current task from the MLPS School Board at the board’s Monday, February 22 regular monthly meeting.

That task is:

+ To work with the school’s architect (Paul Youngquist) in order to create a building project proposal/plan to be presented to the School Board for consideration and approval.

Once that task is completed – a building project proposal/plan approved by the School Board – the Building Committee will join the School Board in conducting public information meetings in advance of a building bond vote. In addition, the Building Committee will keep the School Board informed of their progress.

Building committee members include Cheri Hanson, Jerry Haberman, Bruce Swanson, Bryan Bargen, Vern Peterson, Tom Appel and John Carrison.

School Board members will rotate attendance at Building Committee meetings.

In other action, Board members approved the retirement of Donna Petersen, longtime Desk Top Publishing/Industrial Arts/Driver’s Education Teacher, at the conclusion of this 2015/2016 calendar year, and thanked her for her many years of service to the school district.

+ Approved the resignation of Jaime Banks as Junior Class Advisor at the conclusion of the 2015/2016 School Year.

+ Approved the resignation of custodian Bryce Bregel, effective March 4, and thanked him for his service to MLPS.

+ Approved the Integration Plan for the 2016-2017 School Year as presented.

+ Approved the Consent Agenda, adding Full-Time Custodian/Special Boiler License and Part-Time Custodian. Other items on the Consent Agenda included bill payments, donations, open enrollments and mileage reiumbursement.
