The couple lived in Butterfield, Minnesota, where they did corn shelling and trucking. They then moved to a farm in Butterfield Township, Watonwan County, where they farmed until 1979, when they moved to Mountain Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Diedrich in 1989; brothers, George, Dick, Calvin, Eilert, John and Lawrence Strenge; sisters, Dena Carlson, AnnaBelle Olson, Margaret Rosenburg, Gretchen Huebsch, and Josephine Penner and several nieces and nephews.
