Joanne Kathleen Klassen died on Monday, November 16, 2015, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, where she lived for most of her married life.
She was born on February 24, 1927, to John and Elizabeth Penner in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania. Joanne was adopted in 1929 by Daniel and Hazel Unruh after the death of her mother.
She married Orlando Klassen on June 17, 1949, in Newton, Kansas. They farmed near Mountain Lake and raised four children.
Joanne was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church in Mountain Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marion.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Orlando; brother, Paul; son, Stephen (Nancy) Klassen); daughters, Kathy (Mark) Iblings, Beth (Bill) Beard and Amy (Vron) Jones; 11 grandchildren, Melissa (Dave) Dalley, Jessica (John) Marston, Lindsey (Eric) Reddemann, Rachel (Seth) Dombach, Joelle (Steven) Shetterly, Bethany Iblings, Will (Hannah) Iblings, Daniel Beard, Joe (Abby) Beard, Vince Jones and Abbey Jones and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will observe a private memorial service in the spring.
