Neither driver seriously injured
A 1999 Peterbilt semi, driven by 62-year-old Richard R. Thom of Comfrey and a 2000 Chevrolet Venture van, driven by Bonnie L. Lewis, 52, of Jeffers, were involved in a a sideswipe type of accident on an icy Minnesota Highway #30, at Milepost 73 in Amboy Township, Cottonwood County, at 11:38 a.m. on Monday morning, November 10.
According to the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, the Chevy Venture was eastbound on Highway #30, and was slowing down to make a left turn, when it, and the Peterbilt which was attempting to pass the Venture on the left, sideswiped, the van and semi colliding at the truck cab.
Lewis was transported by Windom Ambulance to Windom Area Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Thom had no apparent injuries.
There are no damage reports on either vehicle.
Also assisting the Minnesota State Highway Patrol was the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
