Sunday afternoon accident south of Butterfield

A two-vehicle broadside accident south of Butterfield  on Minnesota State Highway #60 on Sunday afternoon, October 12 sent a Mountain Lake couple, the occupants in one of the vehicles, to Windom Area Hospital via Mountain Lake Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the second vehicle were not injured.

The accident occurred at 2:57 p.m. Sunday afternoon when a 2012 Buick Enclave, traveling south on Watonwan County Road #5, attempted to cross the four lanes of Highway #60 when it collided with a 2005 Holiday Rambler Motorhome, which was westbound on Highway #60.

The driver of the Enclave, 88-year-old Arnold Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake, along with passenger Lorraine M. Oeltjenbruns, 84, also of Mountain Lake, were transported by the ambulance with the non-life-threatening injuries.

The occupants of the Motorhome, the driver, James P. Wuorio, 46, of Carlton, Minnesota, along with Elizabeth A. Wuorio, a passenger, also of Carlton, had no apparent injuries.

In addition of the assistance of the Mountain Lake Ambulance Squad to the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office was another assisting agency.
