The new 2014-2015 school year for Mountain Lake Public School (MLPS) elementary and high school students will start this Monday, August 18. It will be a full day, running from 8:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the elementary and from 8:10 a.m. to 3:04 p.m. for the high school.
Included in that day will be a variety of opening day activities.
Staff changes at MLPS include:
Elementary School
* Kelli Tucholke is a new kindergarten teacher, moving to teach at level from her previous position as a first-grade instructor.
* Stacey Stade, formerly an elementary teacher at Butterfield-Odin Public Elementary School, will be a new first-grade teacher.
* Amberly Hulzebos enters the district as a new second-grade teacher.
* Crystal Fast returns to reaching elementary special education following a stint as a second-grade teacher.
* Justin Thompson will be a new fifth-grade teacher.
* Now on staff as a Title 1 teacher is Kim Haken.
* New elementary paraprofessionals include Heather Gerdes, Cindy Palm and Linda Loewen.
High School
* Serving as high school counselor will be Martha Standerwick, who previously had taught Title 1 and sixth-grade.
* A new science teacher will be Dani Cattrysse.
