Residents, tenants and staff of the Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake – The Village and The Lodge – will have an extra-special “doggone good” day on Wednesday, August 24. At 3 p.m., that afternoon,  the “Dog Days of Summer” will be celebrated with the arrival of canine guests (and their human handlers).

Going to the dogs provides so much more above and beyond just spending a few minutes with a furry friend. Dogs have the ability to help calm and soothe individuals, lift the spirits of those who are sad and lonely and buoy self-esteem. They also provide a medium for physical touch and.

Most importantly, a canine connection provides unconditional love and acceptance.

Those bringing dogs to the event must make certain that the animal’s shots and flea/tick treatments are up-to-date.
