Four from MLC compete; Danica Dick breaks into finals in Storytelling
Four Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team members competed at the Marshall Speech Spectacular this past Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31. With over 850 competitors – from six states – participating in the two-day event, it was a powerful tournament.
Speech Coach Kim Friesen noted this about the tourney, “It was a marvelous learning experience for these competitors.”
Representing the MLC Speech Team (and the categories in which they will be competing this speech season) were:
* Elijah Stoesz – Senior – Varsity Original Oratory and Varsity Informative.
* Caitlyn Smith – Senior – Varsity Poetry and Varsity Prose.
* Josh Raabe – Junior – Varsity Humorous.
* Melissa Lohrenz – Junior – Varsity Poetry and Varsity Original Oratory.
* Danica Dick – Sophomore – Varsity Storytelling.
Danica Dick broke into quarter-finals in storytelling, bringing home a ribbon.
MLC will kick off their regular 2015 season at Worthington this Saturday, February 7.
