Today’s ag class incorporates floral display, stained glass or other art medium projects
Because today’s FFA is different – gathering in students from rural, non-rural and urban settings – so then, too, are the not-only-just agriculture classes that are taught. Representing that shift are courses added to the curriculum, including, at Mountain Lake Public High School – Horticulture, Ag Leadership, Vet Science, World Foods, Outdoor Rec, Metal Arts, Food Science and Personal Finance.
In this post, the Horticulture class of instructor Lindsey Brown is profiled. According to Brown, “In Horticulture class, we do a Floral/Art unit. This unit lasts a couple months and students rotate between Floral Design, Stained Glass or other Art Medium Project.
“The students pick their own project – and go to work.”
