Begins duties with school district on Monday, August 1
Michelle E. Larson, 49, a native of Corsica, South Dakota, has been named the Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) Principal. Larson comes to the Mountain Lake Public School District from the Marion Public School District in Marion, South Dakota, at which she served as K-12 Principal for the past three years. Earlier in her career, she had taught at Martin Luther High School in Northrop, as well as at Granada-Huntley-East Chain. She received her undergraduate degree in mathematics from Augustana College (now Augustana University) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She and her husband, Doug, have five sons and one daughter-in-law. Jordan and Caleb both attend the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis, while another son, Isaac, is a student at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. A fourth son and his wife, Jacob and Sarah, are employed by the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. The couple’s youngest son, David, will be a sophomore at MLHS.
