Fall celebration for the surrounding community
Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) will be hosting a HarvestFest at the school on Saturday, October 24, with a late afternoon and evening chock full of activities. HarvestFest is geared as a celebration for the surrounding community. The school is located at 710 11th Street North.
+ The event kicks off outdoors with games, food, fun and prizes; the fun happening in the MLC North and South Parking Areas, as well as the Soccer Field from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. As part of this part of HarvestFest, there will be inflatables, an obstacle course, face painting, fall craft activity, harvest backdrop for fun photos (bring own camera). Most of these activities are free, but those attending should bring a little money for ticketed games and food.
+ Starting at 7 p.m and running to 8:30 p.m., a free movie – “The Lego Movie” – will be shown in the MLC Gym for elementary age students and younger children.
+ Also beginning at 7 p.m. and going until 9 p.m., Christian recording artist Rich Confer will be in concert in the MLC Music Room for students in Junior High and Senior High. Rich Confer is a Christian singer/songwriter from Lincoln, Nebraska. The purpose of his music is to inspire, encourage, entertain – and create community. Songs are just one of many creative outlets with which to express beliefs, pursuits and emotions. Confer’s songs center around the message of Jesus Christ and the effect of that on his life. The hope is that in sharing these songs and performances, people would grow in their understanding and embracing of God’s perfect love. Confer is often joined by other musicians on stage as well as in the studio. Brooke Haley on vocals, Ryan Confer on keys/guitars/vocals, Corey Wallroff on guitars/vocals, Matt Cornell on bass and Adam Kovar on drums make up the talented band that backs up Rich Confer on a regular basis (on-stage and off). These, along with occasional other talented friends make up Rich Confer Music.
+ HarvestFest continues into Sunday, October 25, with an MLC Family Sunday morning worship serve at Community Bible Church, beginning at 10 a.m. The church is located at 500 Klein Street in Mountain Lake.
