The Lady Wolverines Varsity Volleyball team extended their season record to 3-0 by sweeping the visiting Truman Bluejays 25-8, 25-20 and 25-11.

“Squad” came out strong in the opener and controlled the tempo throughout, playing the game the way they want to. In the second game, the Bluejays rallied, leading for quite awhile. However, the Lady Wolves used a time-out to their advantage, regrouping and fighting back with their own rally to go up two games to none. The Wolverines did control the action in game #3, leading the entire way to take the match winner, but it was not without a contested effort from their guests.

At the net, Signey Stoesz led with nine kills. She also went down for nine digs, set up the attack with 11 set assists and was 13/14 at the service line – with one ace. Carly Paulson slammed to the court five kills, adding four digs and five service aces on her 10/11 serving effort. Carmen Syverson tallied three kills, 10 digs and was 18/19 at the line, with two ace serves for points. Marta Stoesz also recorded three kills – one solo block – 10 digs, 11 set assists and was 6/6 at the serving line with one ace. Chanah Brandt went up at the net for a pair of solo blocks and was solid at the service stripe with three aces in her 17/18 serving night. Brook Sunderman had a pair of kills and was 8/9 in serves.

The Lady Wolves of Head Coach Cheri Hanson take on Murray County Central (MCC) at home on Thursday night, September 10.
