Musicians mix with MSU Maverick Machine; perform with Celebration of Music Honor Band
Pumping up the crowd for Maverick hockey
A group of Mountain Lake Public High School Senior High Band musicians mixed with the Minnesota State University-Mankato (MSU) Maverick Machine – the university’s Hockey Pep Band – along with other area band members to help pump up the crowd at the Saturday, February 28 MSU hockey game versus Michigan Tech.
It was a successful experience for all – the musicians, as well as the hockey team, the Mavericks winning the game, 4-2.

Celebration of Music Honor Band participants
Last Wednesday, March 5, five Mountain Lake Public High School Junior High Band students performed in a Celebration of Music Honor Band at Brandon Valley Public High School in Brandon, South Dakota. Participating were Emma Stade, Kayla Vonk, Braden Rempel, Paton Buller and Isaac Grev.
Over 25 area schools were represented in the 130-member band, which was under the direction of Ryan Stahle, director of bands at Mitchell Public High School in Mitchell, South Dakota.
The students rehearsed during the morning and afternoon before presenting a late afternoon concert.
