Colorful 2017 Cottonwood County Fair for Mountain Lake FFA

Chapter earns ribbons of purple and blue, accented by trophies of gold

Members of the Mountain Lake Area FFA Chapter recently participated in the competitive shows of the 2017 Cottonwood County Fair last Tuesday, August 15 through Saturday, August 19. The members exhibited their projects and/or animals for judging in the Agricultural Mechanics Show, Horticulture Show, Crops Show, Swine Show, Sheep Show and the Goat Show.

Many of those participants left the event, held at the fairgrounds in Windom, earning ribbons of purple and blue, accented by trophies of gold.

FFA Advisors include Lindsey Brockberg, Stephen Funk and Hayley Faber.

Following are the Mountain Lake FFA Chapter members earning grand champion, reserve grand champion, champion and reserve champion winners.

Cottonwood County Fair FFA Agricultural Mechanics Show

Swine Show

 

NATHAN REGIER SHOWED the Champion Commercial Market Hog. In addition, he was the Grand Champion Exhibitor Overall in the Cottonwood County Fair’s FFA Crops Show, having the Champion Bean Bundle, the Champion Ten Ear and Champion Corn and also had the Champion Metal Project.

 

THOMAS REGIER RECEIVED Reserve Champion Commercial Market Hog. In the FFA Crops Show, Thomas was the Reserve Grand Champion Overall, and had the Reserve Champion Bean Bundle and Reserve Champion Corn.

Mountain Lake FFA Chapter members received other awards, to be presented at this fall’s National FFA Convention. Junior Louangsaphakdy, who will be a senior at Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) was named to the National FFA Talent Show; Josiah Gardiner, a junior at MLHS this school year, made it into the National FFA Choir and Madelyn Regier, a 2015 graduate of MLHS, will be receiving her American Degree.
