MLHS has talent

School’s Student Talent Show is this Friday

 

 

As the Music In Our Schools Month of March draws to a close, the Haydn to Hip Hop Class of music teacher/director Andrea Brinkman at Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS), will showcase the school’s talented students in a Friday evening, March 31, Talent Show in the school’s auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m.

A freewill offering will be accepted for a class trip to Memphis, Tennessee and Nashville, Tennessee – the Birthplace of Rock-and-Roll – this June.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has designated the month for the yearly celebration of music in schools. During all 31 days of the month, there is a focus on music education in schools across the nation. This year’s theme has been, “Change the World,”

Judges for the evening will be Emily Adrian, Ashley Gohr and Travis Smith.

The featured acts will include:

+ Ruben Fentanez – vocal solo, with guitar accompaniment by Elijah Evans.

+ Karen Soutthivong, Liana Blomgren, Tommy Kraemer and Sam Grev – skit.

+ Chloe Klassen – vocal solo, accompanied on piano by Amy Bartsch.

+ Josiah Gardiner – rap solo.

+ Merel Caminada – dance.

+ Emilio Garcia de la Cruz, Joel Salgado, Emilee Xayonourom and Brandon Louangsaphakdy – lip sync.

+ Jon Faber and Mace Herrig – lip sync.

+ Joel Salgado – vocal solo, accompanied on piano by Ethan Klassen.

+ Kenna Gardiner – vocal solo, accompanying herself on guitar.

+ Olivia Christians, Eryn Friesen, Sommer Majerus and Baylee Jepsen – skilt.

+ Sam Hirsch, Yahayra Sanchez and Andrew Fast – Cantina saxophone trio.

+ Junior Louangsaphakdy and Eli Karschnik – beatboxing.

+ Alina Inthamthirath – dance.

+ Liana Blomgren – vocal solo, accompanying herself on guitar.

+ Lucie Havlíčková – recorder solo.

Also featured onstage will be the “Clash of the Classes” skits for grades 7-12.
