It’s not a partridge in a pear tree . . .

. . . But a bird even more special, recognizing spring is coming

IT WASN’T QUITE the partridge in a pear tree celebrated on the first day of Christmas, but the appearance of this robin in the Cross-Counties Connect front yard this morning (Thursday, March 9) was a pleasing and hopeful flash of color (and a sign of spring a-coming) on a gray day – following a morning surprise of three inches of wet, heavy snow that fell overnight. Welcome back; can’t wait to hear your song, joined in by an increasing chorus from your “wing” of the thrush family. (Jill Langland photo)
