Father, daughter, formerly of Comfrey, involved in two-car accident

Collision occurred this afternoon in LeSueur County

 

 

A father and daughter from St. Peter, formerly of Comfrey, were involved in a two-vehicle collision this afternoon (Wednesday, March 22) at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 22 at LeSueur County Road 21 in Kasota Township of LeSueur County.

According to a report by the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 92-year-old Harriet Derner of St. Peter was traveling southbound on Highway 22. A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 38-year-old Chad McKinney of St. Peter, with passenger, his 16-year-old daughter, Skylar McKinney, was north bound on Highway 22. The vehicles collided. Kasota Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and Rivers Edge Ambulance assisted on scene.

Both Derner and Skylar McKinney were taken by ambulance to Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter with non-life-threatening injuries. Chad McKinney received no injuries.

Also assisting were the LeSueur County Sheriff’s Office, Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office and St. Peter Police Department.
