AT THE CANBY Triangular meet on Tuesday, January 17, the Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobras split with the two teams they faced, earning their season’s first dual meet win along the way. In the first match-up against the Bird Island/Olivia/Lake Lillian/Danube (BOLD) Warriors, W/ML celebrated with that first dual victorey, 46 to 30. Earning falls were Brett Willaby at 106 pounds, Kade Sammons at 113 and Jeff Wright at 182. Alex Borsgard, at 132 pounds, won with a major decision. The Cobras were assisted to the win with four BOLD forfeits. In the second meet of the tri, the Cobras lost to the home club, the Canby Lancers, 37 to 30. Falls were recorded by Willaby at 106, Borsgard at 138, Evan Wiens at 145 and Wright at 182. Decision wins were posted by Hunter Ekstrom at 113 and Zach Spinks at 132. W/ML wrestles next Thursday, January 19, when they cost a Cobra Tri Meet at Windom.
