Community Education hosts all the vampires, monsters, cats, clowns and princesses in Butterfield; Oh my!
The annual Community Education-hosted Halloween Party in Butterfield was held Thursday, October 27, at Butterfield-Odin Public School. A treat of free hot dog, chips, cookie and beverage meal in the school’s cafeteria was followed up with events in the small gym, all of the vampires, monsters, cats, clowns, princesses – plus an additional cast of costumed characters – performing tricks for prizes
Following is a photo gallery from the evening’s haunted activities:
SERVING UP A special “potion” from her black cauldron was Deb Schmitz, Community Education Director at St. James Public School, stylishly-rockin’ the witch’s hat bedazzled with giant buckle.
KAYDENCE THANG, AS Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz, was missing her four-legged canine companion, Toto – but was set to enjoy time with a different type of dog – a tasty hot dog.
TORSTEN LOEWEN’S FANGS are all the better to quickly chomp down his hot dog.
EVERYONE KNOWS THAT a vampire turns into a winged-bat, but even Khamdyn Xayaphonesongkham’s eyebrows have wings.
THIS CUTE CLOWN, Kayleigh Steinbrink, is able to make everybody smile, don’t worry – and be happy.
BUSILY CREATING BALLOON creatures for all the kids at the Halloween Party is Elisabeth Carlson.
BRAXTON BROWN WITH his “dachshund” balloon dog. Maybe he can get his four-legged friend to perform with him during his clown act.
AVALYN KHEMPHOMMA TOSSES bean bags at the target – and through the cut-out circles – in order to win a prize.
SUE CRAIG, WATONWAN County 4-H Program Coordinator, back, leads Jason Cowell, front, through the Jack O’Lantern Disk Game.
CHASING A PRIZE at the Dum-Dum lollipop tree is Sadie Meyers (or – a werewolf student from Monster High).
TOSSING THE FROGS to the proper color-coordinated lily-pad for each is Aaliyah Melheim-Sulflow.
THIS CUDDLY BROWN-eyed pumpkin squeeze is Vanessa Limones.
“SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO, Where are you?” Well, right here in the costumed form of Benjamin Lopez-Wallert. “Roh-Roh!”
THIS LITTLE FOX, Jayce Hanson, tours the small gym blowing on his color-matching pinwheel in order to make it spin.
THE CAPTION FOR this photograph is – “Who’s afraid of who?” – or – “The leopard sees her spots!” Little Leopard Adleigh Olson, left, gives a significant snarl, and her aunt, Julie Saunders, right, shrieks in mock terror. All in a Halloween Party night.
