Wolverines lose in three in South Section 2A second round
The Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine Volleyball team’s 2016 season came to close tonight (Thursday, October 27) at St. Clair, the Cyclones stopping the Wolverine in three games in the South Section 2A, 25-18, 25-15, 25-14.
MLA, seeded tenth in the South, rallied to defeat #7 United South Central (USC) in five games at Wells on Monday night, October 24, but were then up against the South’s #2-seed.
The Wolverines close the book on this season with a 6-17-3 record.
St. Clair, now 26-4, will take on the South’s #3-seed, Springfield (21-8) in the quarter-finals on the Mankato West court on Tuesday, November 1, first serve at 7 p.m. Springfield beat Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial (seeded 11th) 25-15, 25-14, 25-23, to advance.
