A contingent of Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine Track and Field participants advanced from the Section 3A South Sub-Section to compete at the Thursday, June 2 Section 3A Track and Field Meet at Redwood Falls. There the South met up with those who moved on from the Section 3A North Sub-Section.
The top two individuals in each event, along with the top two relay teams from those events, qualified for the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class A Track and Field Meet to be held Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 at Hamline University in St. Paul.
No Wolverines will advance to the state meet, however a number did come close.
On the boys side – Reynaldo Capetillo finished just out of advancing with a 3rd in the 400-meter dash, the 4 x 800 relay (Slade Harder, Tommy Kraemer, Emilio De La Cruze and Ryan McCue) ended in 3rd and Harder ran to 4th in the 3200-meter run.
For the girls – Bailey Swanson was 4th in the 300-meter hurdles and 8th in the 100-meter hurdles and Carly Paulson ended in 5th in the 100-meter hurdles.

Boys
+ 3200-meter run – Slade Harder, 4th with a time of 10:18.77.
+ 1600-meter run – Ryan McCue, 12th with a time of 12:59.71.
+ 300-meter hurdles – Joel Salgado, 16th with a time of 49.43.
+ 400-meter dash – Reynaldo Capetillo, 3rd with a time of 51.21.
+ 4 x 800 relay – Harder, Tommy Kraemer, Emilio De La Cruz and Ryan McCue, 3rd with a time of 8:35.97.
+ 800-meter run – Tommy Kraemer, 14th with a time of 2:15.70.
+ Long jump – Reynaldo Capetillo, 14th with a jump of 17′ 11 1/4.”
+ Triple jump – Levi Stoesz, 11th with a jump or 37′ 2.”
+ Shot put – Hunter Dahna, 12th with a toss of 41′ 5 1/2.”
Girls
+ Shot put – Jenneel Rodney, 7th with a toss of 34.”
+ 100-meter hurdles – Carly Paulson, 5th with a time of 17.44 and Bailey Swanson, 8th with a time of 17.64.
+ 100-meter dash – Jenneel Rodney, 15th with a time of 13.86.
+ 300-meter hurdles – Bailey Swanson, 4th with a time of 50.35.
+ 4 x 100-meter relay – (Paulson, Emily Jahnke, Brook Sunderman and Rodney), 12th with a time of 54.70.
+ 4 x 400-meter relay – (Marta Stoesz, Liana Blomgren, Sunderman and Carmen Syverson), 12th with a time of 4:27.65.
+ Long jump – Emily Jahnke, 16th with a jump of 14′ 4.”
