Performance of MLHS Choirs would have made Walt himself very happy
Walt Disney himself would have been very proud of the salute to The Wonderful World of Disney presented by the Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) Choirs – under the direction of the school’s Director of Choirs Andrea Brinkman – in a spring concert Monday, May 23, in the auditorium.
Choreographing the Junior High Show Choir and Senior High Show Choir moves was Kelli Tucholke.
Serving as hosts for the evening were the Senior High Choir Officers, Carmen Syverson, Ryan McCue, Ruben Fentanez and Sam Xayanourom, along with guest host, Michaela Cate.
An eclectic array of Disney movie songs from over the years were presented. In fact, selections were pulled from all four of the major film studios that comprise Walt Disney Studios – Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm Ltd. In fact, even The Muppets are a part of the Disney production family.
A pre-show photo op with Disney characters drew a host of young children to the event.

FROZEN’S ANNA (MARTA Stoesz), left, and Elsa (Madison Schroeder), right, were an integral part of the fairy tale evening, made complete with Mountain Lake Public School’s own gigantic book of “Once Upon A Time” tales.
DANCING AND SINGING, the Junior High Show Choir, comprised of students in grades sixth-through-eight) lit up the stage with three numbers, “Disney Showstoppers” (Beauty & the Beast, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid), “What Time is It” from High School Musical, and the selection the young women of the choir are performing in the above photo, “Breaking Free,” also from High School Musical. THE” UP” MAN (Bob Wornson), the balloon salesman from the movie UP, is surrounded by Junior High Choir members as they present the song, “Spirit of Adventure,” from the movie.
THE WISE MANDRILL, Rafiki (Sam Paulson), center, raises up the young lion cub destined to become the Lion King, backed by the members of the Junior High Choir, as they complete their rendition of “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. The girls of the Junior High Choir shared “Lost Boy,” from Peter Pan and “When Will My Life Begin,” from Tangled. The Junior High Choir boys presented “I’ll Make A Man Out of You” from Mulan, as well as When Will I See You Again from Wreck It, Ralph.
MERIDA (KENNA GARDINER), the princess from the Pixar movie Brave, was soloist, along with Lexia Peters, on the the Senior High Choir’s rendition of the song “Touch the Sky” from the movie Brave.
