Bid for some real deals on special items while supporting the community
The Mountain Lake Area Foundation (MLAF) Silent Auction items remain on display in the side conference room at Mountain Lake City Hall for just three more days. City Hall hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The auction will run until this Friday, April 29. The current bids on items are listed below behind each auction donation. Some items have not yet received any bids, so the bidding options are wide open for any amount – and there some real deals to be had. There is a long list of unique items included in the silent auction – all of them donated – and funds raised are returned directly to the community.
The money raised from this silent auction, and an early fundraising event at Jubilee Market and Peacemeals, will be used to meet a $3,000 Challenge Grant from the Southwest Initiative Fund (SWIF).
The MLAF is a 501 (c) (3), and was established in 1996 to attract and administer charitable funds for the benefit of the Mountain Lake Community. It is a permanent resource for the community and provides leadership and financial resources in the form of grants, to meet the needs and economic and social growth of the community.
Over the past 10 years, the MLAF has disbursed more than $300,000 in funds to various entities, including the Mountain Lake Ambulance Squad, the Mountain Lake Public School track and field, the public school marching band, Heritage Village, Early Childhood Family Education, Mountain Lake Public School indoor swimming pool, Mountain Lake Community Loaves and Fishes Food Shelf, the local medical clinic, the Mountain Lake Police Department, etc.)
If not from the area, but wish to make a bid, contact Kris Langland at (507) 822-1549 to coordinate that option.
