The Lake Commission learned at their Monday, April 11 meeting that, following a presentation to the Mountain Lake City Council by Commission Member Dave Bucklin, members elected to support a grant application and bid-letting for work on a sediment pond for the outlet of a creek that flows through the Mountain Lake Golf Course and enters into Mountain Lake, as well as estimates for repairs to the storm sewer plunge pool.

The Council met with the Golf Course Board to discuss the sediment pond.

Weed harvest to get underway

Commission Member Jay Schied reported that weed harvesting will get underway around Sunday, May 1. Mountain Lake City Clerk/Administrator Wendy Meyer, who was in attendance at the meeting, shared that she had received a harvesting permit for 100 acres.

The boundaries for harvesting were changed, with more harvesting to be done in the middle of the lake – and less by the dam.
