MLC Speech Team opens season

Compete in Trojan Invitational; Josh Raabe third in Humorous

THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Christian (MLC) Speech Team opened their competitive season this Saturday, February 6, at the Worthington Trojan Invitational Speech Tournament. There were 21 schools represented, with 254 total entries. Senior Josh Raabe of Mountain Lake captured third-place in Humorous. Other competitors on the day included – Sara Quiring, Butterfield, seventh-grade, Serious Prose; Jack Lepp, Butterfield, seventh-grade Humorous and Zoey Smith, St. James, seventh-grade, Great Speeches. Although not participating in this tourney, additional MLC Speech Team members include – Melissa Lohrenz, Mountain Lake, senior, Drama and Elizabeth Linscheid, Butterfield, seventh-grade, Original Oratory. The team’s Head Coach is Kim Friesen of Windom, with Elijah Stoesz of Mountain Lake the Assistant Coach.
