MLA Volleyball #8 in Section 2A South

To host #9-seed JWP on Tuesday

Head Coach Cheri Hanson’s Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverines Varsity Volleyball squad was seeded #8 in Section 2A South, and will host #9-seed Janesville/Waldorf/Pemberton (JWP) in a pigtail round match on Tuesday, October 27; first serve at 7 p.m. The Wolverines currently sport a .500 won/lost season record at 12-12, with one regular season match remaining on Thursday, October 22, at Ellsworth, while the Bulldogs are currently 8-11.

Claiming the top seed in Section 2A South was Waterville/Elysian/Morristown (WEM), 26-3 on the season. The winner of the MLA/JWP match will take on the WEM Buccaneers in the quarterfinals in Waterville on Thursday, October 29, beginning at 7 p.m.

The winner of that match will play on Monday, November 2 at 6 p.m. at Mankato West High School. They will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between Springfield and the winner of the Alden-Conger/Truman pigtail round.

The Section 2A South winner will be determined during a 6 p.m. Thursday, November 5 match at Mankato East High School.

Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter will host the Section 2A championship match as Section 2A South and Section 2A North face off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
