Delft Furrowmakers’ Labor Day event an annual tradition
“PLOWING DAY” IS just a few days away for the Delft Furrowmakers. The annual celebration – traditionally held on Labor Day – will be held this year on Monday, September 7. The now-harvested wheat field is located 1/2 mile south of the Baerg Farm on 490th Avenue off of Cottonwood County Road #3, west and south of Delft. The plowing starts at 1 p.m. The Delft Furrowmakers were founded in 1998 and gather every Labor Day to turn the soil with antique tractors and plows. The mission of the Delft Furrowmakers is to preserve the history of plowing – as well as the machines that do the work.
