Update on Jacob Molitor’s recovery

Remains hospitalized following July 3 ATV accident

Jacob Molitor, 25,  son of Paul and Deb Molitor of Mountain Lake, continues to recover in Mayo Health System-St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester from injuries received in a Friday night, July 3 ATV (all-terrain vehicle) accident near Voss Park at Butterfield. suffered severe injuries in an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) accident late Friday night, July 3, approximately one mile north and west of Voss Park, located near Butterfield.

Molitor was thrown from his ATV and suffered a severed spinal cord and eight broken ribs.

Molitor graduated from Mountain Lake Public High School and is currently employed as a manufacturing engineer technician at AGCO in Jackson.

He had surgery on Thursday, July 9 to stabilize his spinal cord. Since the surgery, he has incrementally grown stronger, giving a “thumbs up” and his lungs have improved to the point that he had his trach removed. On Monday, July 13, he was able to speak for the first time since the accident.
