Swoboda is named the Building Committee member, Strom is ex-officio member; act on staff, coaching resignations
At the Monday evening, May 18 meeting of the Mountain Lake Public School (MLPS) School Board, members unanimously selected Architects Rego + Youngquist, inc. (ARY) – Paul Youngquist – as the architect for the school district.
According to the firm’s website, ARY, with headquarters in St. Louis Park, “is a planning and design firm that specializes in community facilities in the State of Minnesota. A complete range of architectural and engineering services has been provided to public organizations since 1956. The educational facilities market constitutes the largest specialty group, but they also have experienced design professionals in the ecclesiastic and medical design areas.
“Experience in serving school districts and communities for 50 years has allowed ARY to see the changing faces of education and the need to keep pace with, and at times, stay ahead of those changes.
“Gone are the days of the one-room schoolhouse. In fact, school buildings no longer simply house reading, writing and arithmetic. In addition to maintaining a place for quality instruction, today’s educational facilities support a wide variety of important community activities around the clock.” These diverse programs in a single school building may include daycare, adult education, athletic events and community-centered organizations.
ARY is a member of American Institute of Architects-Minnesota Chapter, Minnesota Association of School Maintenance Supervisors, Minnesota School Boards Association, Minnesota Association of School Administrators and the Minnesota Medical Group Management Association.
In their work specific with school districts, ARY has assisted with new facilities, additions and alterations, long-range planning and Americans With Disabilities Act improvements.
