Minn-Kota fundraising event to be held this Saturday

A Minn-Kota fundraising event will be held this Saturday, March 14, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 305 7th Street North.
The funds raised will go to the Ukraine through the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) for food and medication for the displaced and vulnerable people of the country and to the Loaves and Fishes Food Shelf of Mountain Lake. MCC is a global, nonprofit organization that strives to share God’s love and compassion for all through relief, development and peace.
Featured will be a locally-made ethnic supper of varenikje – or verenike or vareniki. But, no matter how you spell the name of the main dish, the culinary treat will be these cottage cheese pockets topped with gravy, sausage, moos, bread and applesauce – as well as a bake sale.
No-stairs seating and gluten-free (baked potato) options are available.
Donations of bake sale items are welcomed. Those making donations are asked to bring them to the church on March 14 before 5 p.m.
Those interested in assisting with the meal may contact Maryann Harder at 427-2232.
