Brianna Ringen one of 97 students in grades 7-12 from the region to benefit from program
BUTTERFIELD-ODIN PUBLIC High School student and musician, Brianna Ringen, was recently awarded a $300 scholarship from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund announced the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council. Scholarships were awarded to 97 students in grades 7-12 throughout the region, representing nine counties. Ringen was one of nine Watonwan County students who received the award. The scholarships provide the students the opportunity to study their chosen art with a practicing professional artist, take lessons or perform with a youth arts organization. The Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund was created by the people of Minnesota to support the arts and preserve the state’s heritage. The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, passed by the voters in November 2008, created new resources for land conservation, water conservation, parks and the arts.
