MnDOT highways in southwest Minnesota now open

No travel advisory remains in effect

The Mankato Office of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reports that state highways are open – but that the NO TRAVEL ADVISORY for southwestern and south central Minnesota continues.

Previously closed state highways – including Minnesota State Highway #60 – in the following counties have opened as visibility has somewhat improved:

* Blue Earth.

* Brown.

* Cottonwood.

* Jackson.

* Martin.

* Nobles.

* Watonwan.

Motorists may encounter brief lane and road closures where crashes occur.

Motorists are advised to:

* Check road conditions at www.511mn.org or call 511; it takes time to get roads back to good driving conditions.

* Be patient and remember snowplows are working to improve road conditions for your trip.
