Includes attending one-hour presentation, home visit by consultation experts

The City of Mountain Lake, along with Minnesota Energy Resources Corporation, are sponsoring a residential energy audit for Mountain Lake homeowners.
Those interested in signing up for an audit must first attend a one-hour energy presentation, at either the 2:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. session, on Thursday, February 5, at Mountain Lake City Hall, located at 930 3rd Avenue. Each household attending will receive a free energy-saving goody bag, which includes an LED light bulb. To reserve a spot, contact 507-427-2999 or e-mail city@mountainlake.govoffice.com.
At the time of the presentation, homeowners can schedule a home energy audit for only $50, which includes all services and installations.
For the home inspection visit, Greg Ernst and Associates, the consultation experts will, based on the home’s specific needs:
* Install materials, including a high-efficiency showerhead, faucet aerators – and up to 5 LED light bulbs – and more.
* Perform a blower door test to measure the home for air leaks.
* Complete an insulation inspection.
* Safety check the home’s heating system and water heater.
* Help the homeowner find qualified insulation contractions.
It was noted at the home energy audit qualifies a homeowner for specialized energy financing and utility rebates.
Participants must be a homeowner and a Minnesota Energy Resources and MLMU (Mountain Lake Minnesota Utilities) customer.
