MLC freshman Danica Dick advances to State Speech

All four of school’s section participants broke to final round

 

Of the four competitors that MLC took to St. Peter on Friday, ALL 4 (100%) broke to final round in their individual categories. Elijah Stoesz (Junior)     Info       4th Josh Raabe (Sophomore)        Humor      5th Caitlyn Smith (Junior)     Great Speeches   5th DANICA DICK (Freshman)      Storytelling   3rd    ---- She will advance to State competitions to be help on Saturday, April 12th at Blaine High School. Four members of the Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team will be moving on to compete in the Section 2A contest after qualifying in Sub-Section 5A, Section 2A competition held Monday, March 24, at Fairmont Public High School. Caitlyn Smith, who finished second in Great Speeches and Elijah Stoesz, who was second in Informative Speaking, will advance to the next level, along with Josh Raabe, third in Humorous Interpretation and Danica Dick, third in Storytelling.
OF THE FOUR competitors that the Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team took to the Section 2A Meet, held in St. Peter, Minnesota on Friday. March 4 – ALL four broke to the final round in their individual categories. Of those four, freshman Danica Dick will advance to the Minnesota State Class A Speech Meet by virtue of her third-place finish in Storytelling. The State Class A Speech Contest will be held this Saturday, April 12, at Blaine Public High School. (Class AA will be held on Friday, April 11 at the same location). Junior Elijah Stoesz, narrowly missed moving on to the state level, ending fourth in Informative Speaking. The two remaining “speechies” also earned medals, junior Caitlyn Smith, fifth in Great Speeches and sophomore Josh Raabe, fifth in Humorous Interpretation. All four moved on to section by finishing in the top three at the sub-section level contest held Monday, March 14, at Fairmont Public High School. The team is coached by Kim Friesen.
