MLHS teens tout talents

Student Talent Show for grades 7-12 held this past Friday

Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) students in grades 7-12 participated in a Student Talent Show on Friday, March 28.. The event was the end of a culmination of a month of activities which Andrea Brinkman’s  “Haydn-to-Hip Hop” class planned to celebrate March as  “Music In Our Schools Month” – a national celebration of music education sponsored by NAfME (National Association for Music Education) Brinkman is a MLHS music and vocal instructor.

The judges for the talent show (chosen by the students in the class) were Ryan Jans – MLHS math teacher, Nick Kvam – MLHSL science teacher and Kristin Pfeiffer – ,MLHS Special Education teacher.

Placing first, and earning $75, was Reynaldo Capetillo with a freestyle dance presentation. Daniel Harder shared a piano solo, “Finlandia,” and was second, winning $50. The duo of Christian Pfeiffer and Levi Jahnke were third with an original guitar/piano duet, and were awarded $25. The complete list of talent show participants included Amy Bartsch, Tiger Sengmany, Aristides Rodas, Christian Pfeiffer, Levi Jahnke, Luke Rogers, Alex Tabongphet, Bailey Freitag, Rachel Dukes, Daniel Harder and Reynaldo Capetillo.

Serving as emcees for the show were class members Lydia Hildebrandt and Austin Rogers.
