danny-sasseMemorial services for 72-year-old Danny Lee Sasse, of Blue Earth, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning (Saturday, October 15, 2016) at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Reverend Russ Jacobsen officiating. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service is located at 400 E. 14th Street.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Danny Lee Sasse passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth.

He was born June 7, 1944, in Blue Earth, the son of Ernest and Irene (Haase) Sasse. Danny was raised on a farm in the rural Blue Earth/Frost, Minnesota areas and graduated from Frost High School in 1962. After high school, Danny attended Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota (now Minnesota State University-Mankato).

On August 14, 1965, he married Pamela Sankey. To this union, three children were born.

On February 14, 1987, at Salem United Methodist Church, Danny married Candy Earl.

For over 40 years, Danny worked for Coca Cola around the Albert Lea, Minnesota area. Following retirement, he and Candy moved to Blue Earth and spent their winters in Pharr, Texas.

Danny was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Teamster’s Union, Methodist Church, 4-H and Border Riders Saddle Club.

He is survived by his wife, Candace “Candy” Sasse of Blue Earth; son, Alan (Anita) Sasse of Northfield, Minnesota; step-daughter, Angie (Travis) Stallkamp of Clarion, Iowa; step-daughter, Amy (Glenn) Huber of Winnebago, Minnesota; daughter, Carol Holmes of Austin, Minnesota; step-son, Jason (Nissa) Furland of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Jeanie (Doug) Kruckeberg of Blue Earth; brother, Duane ( LaVonne) Sasse of Rochester, Minnesota; sister, Diane (Rakki) Peterson of Butterfield, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Terry (Audrey) Earl of Texas City, Texas; mother-in-law, Irene Earl of Pharr; sister-in-law, Sandy Sasse of New Prague; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Darwin Sasse and Drew Sasse; infant sister, Dawn Sasse; father-in-law Melvin Earl and infant brother-in-law, Jimmy Earl.

In Danny’s name a memorial has been established to the Faribault County Humane Society or Interfaith Caregivers.
