Jacqueline D. Freitag

A memorial service for 58-year-old Jacqueline D. Freitag of Litchfield, Minnesota, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, March 4, 2017, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. The funeral home is located at 316 Sibley Avenue South.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, as well as from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the memorial service.

Jacqueline D. Freitag passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Meeker Manor in Litchfield.

Jacqueline Dee Freitag, the daughter of Dale and Darlene (Stage) Lepsey, was born on September 20, 1958, in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Her family moved to various places in the Western United States, and in 1966, returned to Minnesota from Idaho. They lived in Cobden, Minnesota for a short time before moving to Butterfield, where she graduated from Butterfield-Odin Public High School.

On August 13, 1977 , she married  Dan Freitag, with whom she was married until 1989. She continued her education at Jackson Vocational/Technical Institute (today, Minnesota West) in Jackson, Minnesota, where she received a paralegal degree.

In 1989, she and LeRoy Fischer met and moved to his farm near Windom, Minnesota. They lived a short time in Bingham Lake, Minnesota, before moving to Lake Manuella near Darwin, Minnesota, in 1991 and then to Litchfield in 1992. They moved north of Litchfield in 2004, where she resided until her passing.

Jacqueline worked as a bookkeeper for Dolan and Besser and also for Sparboe Company.

She enjoyed watching cooking and home improvement shows and would use the things she learned in her own home. She loved cooking, canning and gardening, along with spending time with her grandchildren.

Jaqueline was an avid reader and bird watcher. She will be remembered as loving, tough and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children Jared, (and Tiffany) Freitag of Kremmling, Colorado, Dusty Freitag (and fiancée Neva Grabow) of Litchfield, Dayelle Cox of Litchfield, Heather Fischer of Mesa, Arizona, Sarah (and Justin) Hute of Mesa and Matt Fischer (and Abby) of Mesa; many grandchildren, Callie Jo Freitag, Desi Freitag, Kylah Freitag, Gavin Grabow, Tiffany Cox (and fiancé Gage Daak), Cassie Hute, Makayla Hute, Emma Hute, Victoryia Hute, Gracie Hute, Jacee Fischer, Ethan Fischer and Alex Fischer; a great-grandchild, Jaxon Daak and “her other half,” LeRoy Fischer of Litchfield. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Stage (and John Birosh) of Thayer, Missouri; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona (Gerald) Hanson of Grove City, Minnesota, Lorraine Bipes of Litchfield, Phyllis (Vinnie) Ableidinger of Litchfield, Maryls (Delbert “Butch”) Sturges of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Larry Fischer of Grove City and  many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother, Brian Lepsey.
