Faye Peters

faye-petersA  Celebration of Life Service for Faye  E.  Peters, 84, of  Dunnell, Minnesota, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 22, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha, Minnesota, with Pastor Rick Bremseth officiating.

Burial will be in Lake Fremont Cemetery in rural Dunnell.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Friday, October 21, 2016), at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the Church in Alpha. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.

Faye lost her long battle with cancer on Monday morning, October 17, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, surrounded by many loving family members at the age of eighty-four years.

Faye Eleanor Walters was born on November 30, 1931, the daughter of John and Francis (Young) Walters in Jackson, Minnesota. She attended and later graduated from Jackson High School with the Class of 1949. She spent many years cooking in several different restaurants in the area.

On April 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Swenson at Alpha. To this marriage they had seven children.

On  February 21, 1979, she was united in marriage to Jerry Peters at Jackson.

She raised her family and was employed at Sperry Univac in Jackson until her retirement in 1984.

Faye was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha. She enjoyed cooking and baking cookies for her family, sewing, reading, watching the Minnesota Twins and detective shows, especially Perry Mason. Most of all, taking care of grandchildren was very special to Faye.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Peters of Dunnell, Minnesota; sons, Ronald Swenson of Temple, Texas and James Swenson (Thomas Smith) of Las Vegas, Neveda; daughters, Keeha Anderson of Sherburn, Velda (Gary) Roush of rural Mountain Lake, Minnesota and Jennifer West of Henderson, Nevada; daughter-in-law, Barb Swenson (Terry Schermerhorn) of Fairmont, Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 43-great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Walters of Windom, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Roger Nordhausen of rural Sherburn; mother-in-law, Evalyn Peters of St. James, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Dennis Peters of St. James, Dale (Deb) Peters of Winthrop, Minnesota, Arnie (Diane) Peters of St. James and Billy Peters Jr. of St. James; sister-in-law, Alice (Bert) Peters of Sherburn;  nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
